Matt Hardy def. Batista by Disqualification
Ever since failing to win the World Title at WWE Bragging Rights, Batista has turned into a raging beast. Last week, Batista attacked Hardy from behind. In the night’s main event, Matt Hardy felt The Animal’s wrath once again. After smashing Hardy into the announce table, Batista drove a TV monitor into his back. The vicious and painful assault earned Batista an immediate disqualification.

This Week's Featured Match:  Matt Hardy vs. Jeff Hardy
This match took place on SmackDown, on December 16, 1999.  During this time, Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley and Triple H were drunk with power and pitted the two brothers against each other.  Initially, Matt and Jeff wanted no part of this match-up.  They half-heartedly went through the motions of wrestling until Matt lit a fire under Jeff my shoving him in the face.  Terri watched in horror as the boys began to genuinely fight each other.  Personally, this is one of my favorite matches.  The boys really got a chance to show-case some insane moves.  Matt ends up picking up the victory after Jeff tweaks his knee during a botched 450 Splash.

Matt Hardy def. Eric Escobar
Despite a knee injury, Matt Hardy hit a surprise neckbreaker to overcome newcomer Eric Escobar in a hard-fought rematch of their WWE Bragging Rights qualifier two weeks ago. The loss marked Escobar’s first singles defeat in WWE.

Later, when Matt Hardy tried to prevent Batista from making the same mistakes he did against a “brother,” Batista responded by throwing him into a chain link fence. As a result, The Animal will take on Hardy next week.

Full Details About Jeff's Arrest?
Matt tweeted about this article a few minutes ago:

"First off, I want everyone to know before you read this that a lot of this is only a rumor as of now. So while it could be proven as fact later on, nothing is confirmed as of yet.

People should keep in mind that there is some truth in every rumor. While not everything rumored will come to pass every time, something rumored can be the truth, and that should not be overlooked.

Now to Jeff Hardy.

As most of us know by now, Jeff Hardy was arrested a few months back on drug charges. But the big charge that people focused on was drug trafficking.

The reason it is considered trafficking is not that he was selling the drugs, but because of the weight of the drugs he had.

Different states have different rules on how much weight the drugs can be before a trafficking charge will be filed. If all of the drugs that were found had a prescription, then no charges would be filed as it is legal to have any drug with a legit prescription.

Now, the way they caught Hardy was off a supposed "tip" from an anonymous party. They laid out a package for Jeff, he took it inside, and they invaded the home shortly thereafter. It was sort of a sting operation."

Team SmackDown def. Team RAW
In the first-ever WWE Bragging Rights Tag Team Match, Team SmackDown emerged victorious when co-captain and Unified Tag Team Champion Chris Jericho pinned Kofi Kingston.

The tag team victory proved to be pivotal for SmackDown, allowing the blue brand to break the 1-1 tie with Raw on the night and take home the coveted WWE Bragging Rights trophy.

But, the tag team victory came via perhaps one of the biggest betrayals in WWE history when Unified Tag Team Champion Big Show turned his back on Team Raw by chokeslamming Kingston, setting him up for the pinfall by Jericho. The World's Largest Athlete also turned the tables on Triple H by dropping him with a brutal punch to the head.

Earlier in the night, Raw co-captain Triple H said point blank to his teammates: “We have to win tonight.” The Game appeared to have the armaments he needed to fulfill his goal including co-captain Shawn Michaels, Big Show, Mark Henry, Cody Rhodes, Jack Swagger and Kofi Kingston.

Representing team SmackDown in the seven-on-seven encounter were co-captains Chris Jericho and Kane, along with Finlay, R-Truth, Matt Hardy & The Hart Dynasty. However, just two nights before the massive pay-per-view encounter, the makeup of Team SmackDown changed drastically when five of its original seven members were replaced in a Nine-Man Tag Team Match orchestrated by the co-captains.

With the win, SmackDown will go in the annals of WWE history as the first brand to win the WWE Bragging Rights trophy. But, the controversy surrounding the victory begs the question: Is SmackDown really the superior brand?

This Week's Featured Match:  The Hardys & Lita vs. The Dudley Boyz & Jazz
This match to place on February 28, 2002.  In previous weeks, Team Xtreme had engaged in a bitter rivalry with The Dudleys and Stacy Keibler.  The six individuals were to hash out their issues in a six-man mix-tag team match.  However, Stacy supposedly injured her ankle earlier in the evening, so Jazz, the then-WWF Women's Champion, was her replacement.  The Dudley's dominated the majority of the match, but think Lita and Matt stole the show with their imitation of The Dudleys' trademark diving head-butt routine.  But all diving head butts aside, Keibler would end up costing Team Xtreme the victory.

Matt Provides A Small Update On Jeff
Matt posted several tweets yesterday regarding Jeff:

“Nothing is gonna happen to Jeff, he’s a victim of a corrupt scam-the truth is coming out, & will come out in it’s entirety in the future”.

“A year or so from now, Jeff will be a bigger star & celebrity than he’s ever been-we locked him into a major project this week.”

“And I personally wanna thank everyone who has stood by the name “Hardy”-you guys mean the world to both of us!”

A small note that I'd like to make is that Jeff's Twitter page is back online, but it is still inactive.

Finlay, R-Truth, Matt Hardy & The Hart Dynasty def. Dolph Ziggler, Drew McIntyre, Eric Escobar & JTG (Nine-Man Tag Team Match)
Team SmackDown co-captains Jericho and Kane wielded their power in arranging this match of epic proportions. The winning team would join the elite “SmackDown Seven” at WWE Bragging Rights. The match itself – and its outcome – proved how fast big things can happen in WWE. After Finlay smashed JTG with his shillelagh, Matt Hardy dropped the Cryme Tyme member with a Twist of Fate to stamp his team’s ticket to join Jericho & Kane at WWE Bragging Rights.

Drew McIntyre & Eric Escobar def. Matt Hardy & R-Truth
Though McIntyre and Escobar are relatively new to the SmackDown roster, the two young Superstars proved why they deserve to be on the Friday night team heading into this Sunday by defeating two notable opponents in Matt Hardy & R-Truth. Despite Hardy & Truth giving it their all, it was a distraction by Vickie Guerrero and a cheap shot by Escobar that made the difference, allowing McIntyre to hit a Double-Arm DDT on Matt and pick up the pin to earn his team the victory.

This Week's Featured Match: Matt Hardy vs. Christian vs. Eddie Guerrero
This match took place at Backlash, on May 29th 2001. It was triple-threat match for the European Championship, which Matt had acquired mere days before. Matt, sans Lita and Jeff, got a chance to show-case his athleticism in this bout. All three competitors were impressive. Towards the end, Edge gets involved and Matt almost loses the title, but of course, Jeff rushes to the ring to even the score. With his help, Matt was able to retain the European Championship.

Eric Escobar def. Matt Hardy in a WWE Bragging Rights Qualification Match
In his SmackDown debut, Vickie Guerrero’s boyfriend, Eric Escobar, stunned both Matt Hardy and the WWE Universe by picking up the “W.” Distracted by a screaming Vickie at ringside, Matt was driven into the steel ring post by Escobar. Reeling from the collision, Hardy was easy prey for Escobar to cover for the pinfall.

Possible Reason Behind The Raid Of Jeff's Home
NOTE: Keep in mind that this is just a rumor and that nothing has been confirmed.  I'm only posting this because I feel like it is a reasonable explanation.

The story making the rounds in the WWE locker room regarding Jeff Hardy's explanation for his legal troubles is that he was arrested when police conducted a raid after a package was sent to his home that had been flagged before it was delivered. Apparently, Hardy brought the package inside and police officials were on the scene to conduct the raid.

The story goes that Hardy did not know what the package contained and that it was sent to him by someone from outside North Carolina who had expressed interest in doing business with him.

Jeff is said to be in much better spirits at this point than he was after he was initially arrested. He has told friends that he hired a top notch attorney. Hardy went from asking friends to pray for him because he feared jail time to believing that he could face minimal punishment.

This Week's Featured Match:  Jeff Hardy (w/ Matt & Terri) vs. Al Snow in a Steel Cage
This match took place on January 3, 2000.  Jeff faced off against the deranged Al Snow inside an unforgiving steel cage.  Before the match officially began, Snow attacked both Hardys and then grabbed Terri and locked her in the cage along with himself and Jeff.  She was forced to watch as Jeff was brutalized for the majority of the match.  Matt made an attempt to climb the cage, but Snow smashed his fingers with a steel chair.  In the end, however, it would be Snow's inadvertent assistance, via a little Poetry in Motion, that would allow Jeff to scale the cage and get out, which left a helpless Terri still trapped inside.  Bitter from his loss, Snow set his sights on her.  The cage door was finally unlocked and Matt was able to make the save before any harm could come to her.

Kimo Teases About Jeff's New Do

Yesterday, Matt had tweeted saying that Jeff had cut his hair and dyed it.  Well, today, Kimo posted a teasing picture about Jeff's new look, but nothing was really revealed.  It appears that Hardy had cut those long locks of his.  I also couldn't help noticing that he's sporting what looks to be a new tattoo as well as a ring.  Maybe Beth and Jeff have tied the knot?  I guess we'll have to wait and see.

Steve Austin Talks About Jeff Hardy's Situation
During an interview with the UK Sun this week to promote his new movie Damage, WWE Hall of Famer Steve Austin says he?s spoken to former WWE superstar Jeff Hardy about his ongoing issues, but you can only do so much to help another person.

?I called him a while back and talked to him,? he said. ?He?s a good looking kid, he?s got a really unique style, people love him, he has his own kind of charisma. I wish he could put it all together and get his personal demons behind him. He got caught with a lot of stuff and we?ll see what happens.?

Austin said he?s reached out to other WWE superstars when he they were having issues with drug addiction.

?I?ve called a few guys when I hear some of them getting into problems,? he said. ?I try to give my two cents to the situation. They?ll all swear that everything is cool, it turns out things aren?t cool. [Vince McMahon] has offered to pay for rehab for anybody who wants it. Some people have taken him up on it, some people haven?t. I get made when people point the finger at Vince and say it?s his fault. It?s not his fault. He?s a third generation promoter who runs a wrestling company. I take responsibility for all my actions. I think everybody should. I refuse to think that it?s Vince McMahon?s fault for any of this.?

He said Jeff Hardy has a unique situation for WWE. One hand hand, he?s one of the most charismatic and popular superstars on the roster, but there?s such a risk of him screwing up that they?ve never been able to fully get behind him.

?Man. This last thing I just heard about the other day when I was driving back from Texas to L.A.,? he said. ?They never gave that guy a full green light push, but you can?t keep him down. All the calamity and trouble he gets into, but people love him. If they ever fully gave him a green light push, who knows what would happen? But you can?t do that because you don?t know what he?s going to do because all of a sudden you have all of this time and money invested and then he screws up. So who knows what?s going to come out of it, if he?s going to do time or whatever. He has some serious stuff going against him.?
